Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Facility Improvements Project for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service

SolsticeAK led NEPA compliance efforts for the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Facility Improvements Project, preparing a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that evaluated seven alternatives across key environmental and social factors. The team collaborated with USDA Forest Service specialists and ECI Alaska to assess proposed infrastructure upgrades—including a new Welcome Center, boat docks, and trails—ensuring alignment with NEPA guidelines. SolsticeAK also facilitated public engagement for the project, which included multiple open houses in Juneau and two public webinars to listen to community concerns and gather feedback.
